For the past years, me and my friends have had a own charity organization. We support an orphanage in Ghana, West Africa. The orphanage is home to 41 kids and teens who all have lost their parents in different ways. But who had the chance to be a part of the big, beautiful family they have created at the orphanage instead.
What we do?
In some places in Ghana there is more poverty than others. Which means that a lot of kids and teenagers don’t have the possibility to have a proper education. And that’s what we work for, me and my two best friends. We sell handmade bracelets and collect bottles and cans that we recycle. I don’t know if you do this in other countries but in Sweden we’re able to recycle our plastic bottles and aluminum cans and get money for it. And all the money we raise goes directly to Ghana! And it’s also good for the environment!
We sponsor two kids and their names are Suzzie, 11 and Samuel, 12. And my family does also support a little boy named Nana who is 5 y/o. We basically support them so they can go to school and have supplies and books. In Sweden the education is free and we take it for granted but in Ghana you have to pay every semester and the dream for many kids would be to go to school. Every year so far we have sponsor the orphanage with money to christmas presents and dinner so that the kids get the christmas they deserve.
So far we have raised around 40.000 SEK/ swedish kr (4 784 USD, 4 042 EUR) !
We believe that you can’t do everything but you can always do something to help other people that don’t have the same conditions that we do.
The pictures is not taken by me they’re taken by the two girls who run the orphanage/ childcare. I have never been in Ghana but me and my friends would love to visit the kids sometime in the future. That’s our dream.

Wow, this is amazing! It is brilliant how you are able to do this and raise the money. I have always wanted to do work in an orphanage or something similar when I am older. Your work is inspiring! It really shows that you don’t need to wait until you are older to make a difference xx

You’re so right. Everyone in every age is able to make a difference, if you have the interest to do so. You should totally do something like that when you get older, it’s a great goal. That has literally been my dream since I started this project, to work at the orphanage in Ghana for a while. I really want to make it happen in the future!
