My Artsy Weekend in Stockholm

This weekend I went a two hours car ride up to our capital, Stockholm to visit my cousin who just moved away from home into her own small apartment. It was such a great weekend!! My aunt and her husband were also going to Stockholm so I went with them in their car. And then me and my cousin watched them do what they were supposed to do in Stockholm, body flying. Seemed pretty cool and I would probably like to do it myself sometime!

Me and my cousin Alexandra went shopping for some art supplies and later went back to her place where we organized her small terrace and planted some vegetable seeds. After that we started with the big plan we had for the weekend, to paint and try fluid painting or also known as liquid painting. Maybe you know what I’m talking about? Maybe not. It’s basically an art technique that involves using silicone in acrylic paint to make a effect that creates different liquid patterns. As you can see in the pictures below.

We painted for more than 3 hours maybe, and this technique was so fun and creating such beautiful pieces. I would really recommend it for you who are interested in art. Later we went out to town to find a good restaurant to eat dinner at and since we both love sushi, we of course choose a sushi restaurant just near my cousins place. We ordered 20 bites and shared them. I actually tried some sushi rolls that I’d never tried before, with Philadelphia and roasted onion on top. SO GOOD. Might not sound like such a good match but surprisingly one of the better rolls I’ve eaten!

After that we walked back to her place and watched the Eurovision Song Contest and my country Sweden was so incredibly close to win the whole damn thing but shockingly we didn’t get at all enough public votes. But whatever, the winning country The Netherlands totally earned it, their song was beautiful! This year’s show was actually one of the best ones I’ve seen, I feel like the songs are always mediocre but this year was actually surprisingly good. Well, except a few. Icelands song was in my opinion terrible, felt like they were about to destroy their voices! We all have different taste in music though.. But I’m loving Italy’s Soldi by Mahmood, that jam is on repeat.

The day after, Sunday. We made the biggest extra healthy breakfast with chia pudding, overnight oats, berry smoothie, ginger shots, banana pancakes, avocado sandwiches, iced coffee and so much more delicious stuff. Such a perfect breakfast! Just look at these pictures and you’ll understand why lol. After breakfast we painted some more and went into the city to go shopping. Which is always fun since Stockholm has all those shops that I can’t find in my city.

Tell me about one fun weekend of yours and if you watched ESC, what did you think? Let’s chat in the comments below! And I hope you enjoyed reading this small blogpost! Take care.

  2. The Sushi looks amazing! And the painting looked like it was so much fun.
You’ve inspired me to do something similar, the blue especially would be lovely in a bathroom. It looks like a blue marble.

    1. It is, have you ever visited? Ah I’m glad you liked the art, I’m not at all used to this art technique, I often paint people on big canvases with acrylic or water colors! The sushi was so good! Thank you so much and thanks for reading!
